The Open or Closed Cell Foam Sheeting are mainly used as shock absorbing accessories, also can be used for bagging and other products. The foaming rate of silicone foam is 1~3.5 times, and the density is 0.5-0.9g/cm3 after foaming; it has excellent anti-vibration and sound insulation properties and becomes a soft elastomer material after vulcanization. It is soft and light, with a good hand feeling and a high multiplier of foaming.
The silicone foam board material is made into various sheets with high tear resistance, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance, non-toxic, tasteless, and good elasticity.

Principle of rubber foaming

The principle of producing rubber sponges by solid rubber foaming is to add the foaming agent to the selected rubber material or then add a co-foaming agent. At the vulcanization temperature, the foaming agent decomposes and releases gas, which is surrounded by the rubber material to form bubble holes to make the rubber material expand to form a sponge.
The main factors that determine and influence the structure of the bubble pore are the amount of blowing agent, the diffusion rate of gas in the rubber, the viscosity of the rubber, and the speed of vulcanization.
 To make better rubber products, the choice of blowing agent species and rubber vulcanization system is the key. There are two specific methods.

  First, according to the vulcanization temperature to choose the decomposition temperature with the appropriate blowing agent, and then according to the speed of decomposition of the blowing agent in the vulcanization temperature to adjust the speed of rubber vulcanization.

  Secondly, in the case of the vulcanization system is determined, according to the speed of vulcanization to choose the variety of blowing agents and the appropriate particle size. The particle size of the blowing agent is also one of the most important factors in determining the decomposition speed of the blowing agent. The particle size decreases, the specific surface area of particles increases, the heat transfer efficiency increases and the decomposition speed is accelerated, so the balance between the decomposition speed of the blowing agent and the vulcanization speed of the rubber can be adjusted by choosing a suitable particle size of the blowing agent.
